Now that we are home with 2 little girls, it's going to be a little harder to keep up with the blogging so we have decided to create a new blog to capture the day-to-day happenings with the Schroders.
We are so excited to begin this new chapter in our lives, please follow us at http://watchourgardengrow.blogspot.com/ .
Thank you for following our journey!

Just so you know
your prayers are being heard and answered...
Here is the post from my friends blog. I have removed their names as their blog is only open to invited readers, but please continue to pray, they desparately need their fingerprint appointment and approval from USCIS/INS...
"I sit here utterly amazed by the mercies of God. It was such a difficult day, trying to hang on to hope after receiving the bad news this morning. I read through several Psalms, seeking comfort from the Scripture...
"The poor commits himself to Thee: Thou hast been the helper of the orphan ... The Lord is King forever and ever ... O Lord, Thou has heard the desire of the afflicted; Thou wilt strengthen their heart, Thou wilt incline Thine ear to vindicate the orphan and the oppressed..." Ps. 10:14b,16a,17-18
But as the day wore on, my strength diminished. It seemed we had heard the final word. What was it going to be like to experience a failed adoption? What about "Precious Jewel's" future? What about all the money that God brought in on her behalf? Discouragement grew. My heart was heavy.
Dear friends brought us a delicious supper of beef stew. There's nothing quite like comfort food on such an emotional day. They also came to pray. We were about to begin when I noticed a new email pop up on the computer screen. It was from Guatemala and the subject line read: "The goodness of God!!!!!" Our hearts skipped a beat as *** and I gripped each other to read it. "Precious Jewel's" mother has agreed to come to the interview on Friday!!! The four of us were amazed at this answer to prayer. We stopped right then and thanked the Lord for His intervention in "Precious Jewel's" life today. Once again, His mercies have been new.
We also received the account balance with The Shepherd's Crook today. A total of $7,792 has come in to bring our baby girl home! Thank you to all of you who are taking a part in her story. We are so grateful for the amazing support we have received from family and friends!"
God continues to fulfill the promises He made to this family that this is their daughter.

PRAYERS NEEDED!
Some sweet friends of ours have been in process to adopt a sweet angel from Guatemala. They have had one delay after another and now are facing another one.
Guatemala is once again changing the rules on the grandfathered cases and requiring ALL cases to have birth mother interviews complete by this Friday. Their BM will not cooperate and as it looks right now, their sweet baby will have to go through the abandonment process which will take a year or two.
Their "Precious Jewel" is special needs and is in need or medical attention soon! Please pray that God will change the BM's heart and that she will cooperate so that this precious baby will have a chance.
They are also still waiting (over 12 weeks now) for USCIS to give them a fingerprint appointment. This is a major step in the process and they need a miracle to get this appointment ASAP and get INS approval.
Please join me in praying for this sweet family!

Home Sweet Home
After quite a delay in Atlanta, we made it home about 1245 last night. Both girls did really well on the trip home. Fern was awake when we got home so we showed her around a little, gave her some milk and put her to bed. She woke up once in the night but went back to sleep immediately when I put her back in the bed.

This is what I found this morning when I went to check on the girls...
Apparently Fern rolled off the bed in the night but it didn't wake her up. Today we went to Babies R Us and bought a bed rail so hopefully that will keep her in place.
We had several visitors today! Alison and Kara came for a visit this morning then Carla and Bella came by and returned Max. The meeting with Max didn't go so great...
Nana and Pa came over for a couple of hours and played then we had nap time. We met a few other friends in the neighborhood and then we went to Papa Joe and Gran's this evening. What a busy day!
Tomorrow, if we are up to it, we are going to a wedding and then to a baby shower/farewell party for our friends Joshua, Kimberly and Noah
If we haven't gotten to meet you you yet, we will, I promise!

Change of Plans
Bill & Melodie were not able to get on the flight to Huntsville, so they will arrive in Birmingham later tonight. They are being picked up at the airport there and will arrive home late tonight.
Pray that the girls can handle the change in plans and that they are able to get a good night's sleep in their own beds tonight!
Welcome to the US, Fern & Rosa!!

More Delays
Melodie just called. The 9:50 flight has been delayed until 11:00 PM because they had to change out the airplane. When they did, they got a smaller plane and Bill & Melodie are now on stand-by.
All the things for the girls and their car seats are already on their way to Huntsville, so Bill & Melodie don't have enough supplies for the girls if they don't get on the flight. Please pray that there is some way that they can get on the flight and get home tonight.

Delayed in Atlanta
Melodie just let me know that they did not make the flight in Atlanta that was set to arrive in Huntsville at 7:43 PM. The next flight to Huntsville arrives at 9:50 PM. Please pray that they can get through swiftly and onto this flight. I'll update you when I hear back from her.
